Carlos is an environmental engineer and GIS and remote sensing expert with over nine years of experience working on a wide range of projects with organizations around the world.
His interests span landscape ecology and carbon dynamics, as well as software development and biodiversity monitoring.
He supports and supervises the development of large-scale remote sensing applications, including land use and land cover classifications, accuracy assessments, carbon accounting, and project evaluations under major voluntary carbon market standards such as Verra.
Alicia Knapps
Biodiversity expert
Alicia is a Wildlife & Biodiversity M.Sc. candidate at the University of Freiburg and an environmental engineer, with professional experience in research and quantitative data analysis for studies and advisory services related to carbon markets.
She has worked on the development of carbon crediting methodologies and projects, with a particular focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting. Her current master’s thesis focuses on bioacoustics in tropical forests, exploring soundscape analysis as a tool for biodiversity assessment and conservation.
